For this Preliminary exercise we learned about Camera framing and Camera Composition. First let's talk about Camera Framing. The liberal definition of camera framing is the process of composing a picture, while the literal definition is the placement or position of the subject in the frame. Camera Framing is a technique that filmmakers and producers use to direct the grasp the attention of the viewer. A camera framing is also a way to describe the positioning and angle of the camera to create specific effects. For this assignment we were told to a power point capturing the different types of frames and shots, such as the single shot which is when when one person is in the frame, two shot is similar to the single shot but with 2 subject, while crowd shot is when there is 5 or more subjects the frame. Camera Framing is used in a wide variety of movies and it is very important because its used to show the different point of views, the way the actor is positioned, set designed, props stunts and more. All these things play a huge roll in camera framing and filming the film. So it is very important to learn these things types of thing/ information when it comes to film, especially if you want to be a person who is interested in working in the film industry. Some example of camera framing can be found below.
